Gerry Walsh, FCIPS, Procurement Director for the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) will present his personal hindsight into the procurement process behind the creation of one of the most exiting sporting events taking place in the UK in 2012.

This an exclusive opportunity to find out what is unique about procurement for the 2012 Games, discussing different aspects such as building a temporary organisation, dealing with a very diverse group of stakeholders - from the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee to Government, from International Sports Federations to Regional Development Authorities. There are also the all-important legacy consideration and the delicate business of dealing with sponsors as suppliers.

With delivery of the London 2012 programme running largely ahead of schedule and within budget, there's much for the executive directors and procurement leaders to learn from Gerry's experience.

BT, the official communications services partner for the London 2012Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are generously sponsoring this joint Institute of Directors City Branch and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) joint event.

Refreshments will be served on arrival and during the networking after the presentation.
